SCG Foundation Cares for Medical Professionals Donates Innovative Gear: Tele-Monitoring Equipment, Modular Screening & Swab Units, and COVID-19 Protective Gear to Rajavithi Hospital

Mr. Roongrote Rangsiyopash, President and CEO, SCG, and President of SCG Foundation, revealed that in order to protect medical professionals who have been working hard to save the people of Thailand during the spread of the COVID-19 virus, the SCG team has accelerated the development of innovative gear to protect medical professionals against the virus and has donated the equipment to Rajavithi Hospital, the pilot hospital and main coordinating unit for COVID-19 patients. The equipment donated included:

  1. Tele-Monitoring Equipment: The 22 sets of tele-monitoring equipment are innovative gear developed by SCG Living Solution which will decrease the frequency of contact between medical professionals and patients who have contracted the virus as well as those under investigation who are isolated. The equipment utilizes the Internet of things (IoT) technology in order to follow up on health data in real-time.
  2. Modular Screening & Swab Units: The 18 units provided by SCG are innovative equipment developed by SCG HEIM and SCG Living Solution which can be fully installed within only two days. The units provide separate areas between medical professionals and patients who have contracted the virus as well as those under investigation. Moreover, the pressure-controlled units also provide appropriate air quality which can lower the risk of infections.
  3. Modular Bathrooms: The 12 modular bathrooms provided by SCG are ready-to-use and easy to disinfect. The bathrooms also allow for separate use between medical professionals and patients who have contracted the virus as well as those under investigation.
  4. Medical Equipment to Prevent the Spread of the COVID-19 Virus: SCG has provided 5 negative pressure isolation capsules to mobilize patients with the virus, 1 isolation chamber (3 rooms), 5 aerosol boxes that will be used while medical professionals insert tracheal tubes, as well as 200 face shields made by volunteers which can protect the face and eyes from bodily fluids.

The donation of innovative equipment and solutions to protect medical professionals from contracting the COVID-19 virus at Rajavithi Hospital was witnessed by Director of Rajavithi Hospital, Mr. Somkiat Lalitwongsa, M.D., as well as the medical team, with Mr. Nithi Patarachoke, President, Cement-Building Material Business and Dr. Suracha Udomsak, Vice President, SCG Chemicals donating the equipment on behalf of SCG.
