SCGC Promotes AI Knowledge for Community Enterprises in Rayong, Organizing Workshop Aimed at Creating Learning Opportunities and Developing Digital Skills for Practical Community Use

SCG Chemicals Public Company Limited (SCGC), a leading comprehensive polymer business for sustainability, is moving forward to reduce inequality and create learning opportunities for society in line with ESG goals. The focus is on building strong communities through self-reliance principles, expanding career opportunities, and promoting skill development in various areas such as marketing photography and using TikTok to increase sales channels.

SCGC organized a workshop titled “Community Enterprises Powered by AI” led by Ms. Namthip Samphaoprasert, Director of Brand Management and Social Affairs at SCG Chemicals. The workshop aimed to transfer knowledge about Generative Artificial Intelligence (Generative AI) to create digital learning opportunities with a focus on practical application. This will help participants work faster, including information gathering, data analysis, document summarization, and marketing strategy development, ultimately promoting careers and generating income for community enterprises.

Ms. Namthip Samphaoprasert stated, “SCGC prioritizes developing and elevating community enterprises based on self-reliance principles, encouraging communities to adapt and continuously learn new things to improve their work. SCGC is an organization that promotes employee use of AI to increase speed and efficiency across the entire organization. Employees can use AI in their daily work, which we call ‘AILY’. This inspired us to extend AI knowledge to the community, leading to this practical workshop.”

Mr. Montri Yimyuen, OTOP (One Tambon One Product) Chairman of Rayong, said, “AI is a new concept for communities. With technology developing rapidly, it’s necessary to learn and adapt to keep pace with the times. Before this training, I felt AI was difficult and didn’t know where to start. But after hands-on experience with expert guidance, I’ve become more confident and can see how it can be used to develop products.”

Ms. Ranyana Junchalern, Chair of Ban Ralin Green Living Community Enterprise, commented, “SCGC’s AI tool workshop has helped us learn methods that lead to faster results compared to self-learning. We’ve discovered that AI can significantly reduce time in product development planning, help create promotion strategies, develop marketing plans, and importantly, assist in designing diverse and interesting logos and packaging.”
