SCG invites you to watch “The Rain Keepers”, a world-class documentary by Thai creators, revealing the mission of 3 communities united to tackle flood and drought crises from “global warming”

Due to the global warming crisis causing erratic weather, Thailand faces “El Niño” and “La Niña” conditions, resulting in alternating floods and droughts. This affects farmers who rely on water for agriculture, forcing them to adapt for survival. SCG has partnered with Payai Creation Company Limited, a world-class documentary production company, to tell the stories of 3 community leaders from 3 villages in 3 regions of Thailand. These leaders use knowledge, technology, and local wisdom to solve severe flooding and prolonged drought problems, aiming to “fight” for survival. The goal is to make Thai people realize the importance of water resources by using water wisely, planning, storing, and managing water sustainably.

“The Rain Keepers” is a world-class documentary made by Thai creators that combines education with inspiration. It showcases the strength of 3 community leaders from 3 villages in 3 regions of the country engaged in agriculture: Ban Paen in Lampang, Ban Pa Peng in Khon Kaen, and Ban Mab Chan in Rayong. These communities face severe drought and flooding problems due to the unpredictable global warming conditions. The documentary reflects their efforts to chase after “water”, a valuable resource for life, led by “community leaders” who inspire villagers to “fight”, working together to overcome chronic problems affecting their livelihoods. They rely on beliefs, wisdom, scientific knowledge, and cooperation to overcome challenges and prepare for unpredictable changes to ensure community survival.
