Fest Food Safety Packaging, together with other 9 partnerships, sign the memorandum of understanding (MOU) to launch the project titled “Sharing is caring, Fest giving back to the environment” to support the use of food safety packaging and environmental-caretaking activities to achieve the sustainable growth in Thai society.
‘Fest’ Food Safety Packaging of Thai Paper Co., Ltd., Packaging Business, SCG together with 9 partnerships from Modern Trade business operators, Chain restaurants and Universities, sign the memorandum of understanding to introduce the project titled, “Sharing is caring, Fest giving back to the environment”. 9 partnerships under the MOU include Siam Makro Public Company Limited, Central Food Retail Co., Ltd., SookSiam project, S&P Syndicate Public Company Limited, Boon Tong Kee (Thailand) Co., Ltd, ZEN CORPORATION GROUP, Tanapattana Thaifood Co., Ltd., Khon Kaen University, and the University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce. For every sales transaction of Fest products to the MOU’s 9 partnerships, 1 bath per Fest package will be donated to The Sirindhorn International Environmental Park Foundation under the patronage of HRH princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn to support the foundation’s mission in recovering mangrove, beach and mixed deciduous forests for sustainable environmental development.
Mr. Rachada Suriyakul Na Ayutthaya, the Director-General of Department of Environmental Quality Promotion, stated that “Sharing is caring, Fest giving back to the environment” project is the cooperation between private sectors and universities to provide Thai people better opportunities to access clean, health-safe and environmentally-friendly food packaging, which is in line with the government policy and show the company’s strong intention to support ‘the Bans of single-use foam and plastic bags’ campaign which encourage people to use the environmentally-friendly product as alternative.”
Mr. Wichan Charoenkitsupat, Managing Director of Thai Paper Co., Ltd, Packaging Business, SCG, the manufacturer and distributor of Fest Food Safety Packaging said that “Fest has been determined to develop products and services to serve the customer’s requirements and sustainably raise the quality of Thai society. Fest has worked along the supply chain, from supporting farmers to earn an additional income by planting Eucalyptus and selling back to packaging business in SCG for raw materials in manufacturing Fest food packaging products. The company also persistently perform R&D in developing Fest Food Safety Packaging with durability, water and oil resistance characteristics and to answer customers’ diversified usage requirements. There are various product categories for customers to choose, Fest Choice made from food contact paper, suitable for Thai food with pattern printing-enabled material as value-added. And also recyclable by waste separation process to remanufacture transportation packaging. Fest Bio, the food safety packaging made from Eucalyptus plantation pulp, is designed to be durable, stackable, microwave/oven-safe, and degradable within 60 days. Fest products’ manufacturing process is complied with BRC (the British Retail Consortium) international standards.”
Pol Maj Gen Prapan Chan-Aim, the Secretary of The Sirindhorn International Environmental Park said that “The foundation is very pleased to receive the financial support from “Sharing is caring, Fest giving back to the environment” project to support the foundation’s activities in building people’s awareness and understanding about environmental restoration and conservation, and also to develop the learning centre regarding waste separation for recycling in accordance with the circular economy concept. The foundation has also tried to initiate an innovation that link technology to the local wisdom in order to encourage sustainable development in Thai society.”
Fest Food Safety Packaging, along with the partners engaging in this project, are aiming to encourage consumers to access an alternative choice of food packaging, and get to use Clean , health-safe and environmentally-friendly packaging. Fest also expects to adjust consumer behaviors to help creating an efficient cycle of resource consumption and sustainably preserving the natural resources.
In addition to the cooperation in this project, Fest Food Safety Packaging also offers the opportunities for the prospective small to medium-sized entrepreneurs to become its business partner, either in the role of Fest manufacturer or Fest distributor in their experienced areas. This is not only helps accelerating market expansion to cover the demand of consumers and restaurants nationwide, but also strong supporting and sustainable development of regional small-medium enterprises.
