SCGD enhances its competitiveness by fully launching the production line for large-size Grazie porcelain tiles, supporting the growth of Vietnam’s construction industry and meeting the demand for strong and beautiful tiles. The company is also reducing costs and improving business efficiency, aiming to double its growth by 2030.
Mr. Numpol Malichai, CEO and Managing Director of SCG Decor Public Company Limited (SCGD), revealed, “SCGD sees market opportunities and growth potential for HVA (High Value Added Products and Services) while preparing to face competition as the economy recovers. We have managed operations efficiently by reducing costs through switching to more biomass and solar energy, as well as producing products in high demand in the market. For Vietnam and the ASEAN region, there is high growth in demand for large-size Grazie porcelain tiles due to their strength, durability, and beauty. SCGD has therefore opened a production line for large-size Grazie porcelain tiles in central Vietnam since July 2023 at the Dai-Loc factory. The initial phase investment was approximately 142 million baht, with a production capacity of 1.38 million square meters per year, capable of producing tiles in sizes 60×60 cm and 80×80 cm. Currently, it is operating at full capacity to meet the high market growth.
In 2024, the company is investing in opening an additional Grazie porcelain tile production line at the Dai-Loc factory in phase 2, with an investment of 76 million baht. Production began in July, with a capacity of 2.2 million square meters per year. Furthermore, there is a project under construction to open another production line at the Tien Phong factory in northern Vietnam, scheduled for completion this October. The investment is 693 million baht, with a production capacity of 9.1 million square meters per year. Overall, by 2024, the company will have increased its large-size Grazie porcelain tile production capacity by over 14 million square meters, including production capacities in Vietnam and one factory in Thailand, increasing the company’s EBITDA by over 200 million baht per year.
SCGD aims to double its growth by 2030, preparing to expand its sanitary ware business in ASEAN. The company is accelerating negotiations with multiple partners to expand its surface and decorative materials business to support the Thai and ASEAN markets, which are expected to recover in the future. Additionally, it has started production at the SPC LT by COTTO flooring plant with the largest production capacity in Thailand at 1.8 million square meters per year, highlighting strengths in supply chain and eco-friendly innovations.
