SCG Chemicals, or SCGC, continues to advance its efforts to create learning opportunities for communities in line with its ESG objectives to reduce social inequality. The initiative focuses on building strong, self-reliant communities while further developing career opportunities and promoting skills enhancement in various fields, enabling communities to adapt to rapid change and apply knowledge in practice. Most recently, SCGC organized a practical workshop to enhance AI tool usage skills under the theme “Design Attractive Products and Boost Sales with the Power of AI” for more than 50 members of Rayong community enterprises. The training aimed to equip participants with the ability to design promotional media and marketing materials, elevating the image of community products and adding value. The workshop was led by Namthip Samphowprasert, Brand Management and Social Inclusion Director of SCGC, in collaboration with King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok, Rayong Campus.

The AI workshop covered a comprehensive range of topics, from creating visually striking product images and designing professional promotional materials to developing marketing strategies, conducting data searches and analysis, and efficiently summarising documents and content. The workshop also included in-depth training on software applications and advanced techniques, enabling participants to gain hands-on experience and create works that reflect the unique identity of their community products. These outputs can be shared through online channels to effectively reach new consumer segments.
Namthip Samphowprasert, Brand Management and Social Inclusion Director of SCG Chemicals Public Company Limited, or SCGC, said, “SCGC places great importance on developing and enhancing community enterprises through the principle of self-reliance. We encourage communities to adapt and learn new skills to cope with change, creating opportunities to compete in the digital market, generate income and strengthen the community economy sustainably. This workshop represents the application of digital knowledge for community enterprises, introducing AI as a marketing tool to enhance the competitiveness of community products.”

Asst. Prof. Dr. Thitirat Thawornsujaritkul, Assistant to the President for King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok, Rayong Campus, said, “AI is currently a key trend for entrepreneurs in this era, serving as a powerful tool to significantly enhance operational capabilities. King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok, Rayong Campus, is pleased to collaborate with SCGC on this initiative to develop AI skills for community enterprises, and has provided its facilities to host the training. The university is also ready to further support interested participants in advancing their digital marketing capabilities by providing expertise, tools, and systems to facilitate sales, as well as integrating AI and digital solutions across all dimensions, such as online marketing and live streaming systems.”

Prakong Koedmongkon, President of the Textile Products Community Enterprise, Map Chalood Community, Rayong Province, said, “After learning the basic steps of using AI in the first training session, I realized that AI can greatly reduce the workload in the product development planning process. It serves as an assistant in creating diverse and modern product designs that better meet the preferences of younger target groups, especially in producing attractive promotional images, crafting impactful captions, and even creating short clips for the community enterprise’s page. In this session, I have learned additional methods and new formats to further enhance and add appeal to what we already have.”

Pol. Lt. Col. Sangwan Yangdee, President of Ban Khai Agricultural Cooperative Limited, Rayong Province, added, “Using AI tools is not difficult if we open our minds to learning new things and recognise their practical applications. At present, Ban Khai Agricultural Cooperative is transforming its management approach towards greater digitalization, including promoting agricultural products and improving sales systems. Integrating AI will be highly beneficial, both in terms of enhancing system efficiency and reducing the workload of our team.”
