Mr. Roongrote Rangsiyopash, President and CEO of SCG, revealed that SCG is assessed and listed No. 1 in the world in the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI) as Industry Leader – Construction Materials. Also, SCG ranked in the Gold Class and co–top rank in Industry Group Leader – Materials. SCG is the first organization in ASEAN to be assessed as a member of DJSI since 2004 and continue for the 17th consecutive year. All SCG employees are proud and committed to sustainable development practices.
This year, SCG has also rated the highest in Governance & Economic and Environmental Dimensions. SCG is the most outstanding and received a full score of 100 in these following categories; Materiality, Risk & Crisis Management, Codes of Business Conduct, Customer Relationship Management, Sustainable Construction, Climate Strategy, Supply Chain Management, Environmental Policy & Management Systems, Biodiversity, Water-Related Risks, Human Rights. In this regard, SCG received significantly higher scores on Biodiversity and Water-Related Risks.
Also, SCG is aware that climate emergencies and serious waste problems have a high impact on the environment. Therefore, the company has adopted the principle of Circular Economy to be applied to all whole chains from production, consumption, and reuse throughout the value chain with innovation as a critical tool. To achieve sustainability goals, the organization focuses on the maximization of resource usage and collaborates with all sectors to drive the circular economy into reality. The Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI) is a sustainability index used to evaluate leading companies in sustainable business operations. DJSI is the global sustainability benchmark launched in 1999. The indices serve as a benchmark for investment institutions and funds around the world used as investment information.
