SCG, in collaboration with the Federation of Thai Industries and partner networks, advances the “Go Together – Growing Together Toward a Sustainable World” project, reaching 1,300 participants, exceeding the first phase target. The company is preparing to develop phase two to better serve SMEs’ needs. The initiative aims to help SME entrepreneurs reduce costs, increase production efficiency, and cope with intensifying competition and environmental conditions in global markets through knowledge transfer and direct experience from SCG factories nationwide, while providing platforms for knowledge exchange. Recently, the 15th and 16th rounds were held – the final two rounds of phase one – at SCG cement plants in Tha Luang and Lampang respectively.
Dr. Chana Poomee, Chief Sustainability Officer, SCG, said: “SCG’s Inclusive Green Growth approach focuses on supporting SMEs to truly transition to a low-carbon society and enhance their competitiveness through learning from real examples, eliminating trial and error, and reducing investment risks. This includes opening factories for learning, carbon reduction innovations that have proven effective and truly reduce costs, using technology and Artificial Intelligence (AI) to improve production efficiency, as well as waste management and production byproducts. Additionally, there are partner networks and experts ready to provide consultation so SMEs can appropriately implement these practices.”

“Under trade wars and pressure from global environmental measures, failure to adapt will directly impact competitiveness. We’re pleased that in phase one, 1,300 SMEs nationwide participated, exceeding our first phase target of 1,200, and we’re currently summarizing results to develop the next phase to be even more responsive and effective,” Dr. Chana added.
Apisit Techanithisawat, Chairman of the Central Region Industrial Council, said: “To reduce carbon emissions, all entrepreneurs must cooperate. When large entrepreneurs serve as role models, small entrepreneurs have opportunities to study and implement real practices. Knowledge gained from participating in activities will be used to improve organizations and extend results to other entrepreneurs.”
Somyot Charnjungthawaorn, Chairman of the Northeastern Regional Industrial Council, said: “The green economy concept can reduce environmental impact and create stable income for entrepreneurs. For example, using agricultural waste to generate electricity is part of environmental conservation and increases business growth opportunities.”
Adisorn Tanengchuan, Chairman of the Southern Regional Industrial Council, said: “Entrepreneurs have opportunities to learn energy-saving approaches through renewable energy use, which can provide immediate benefits, especially solar cell installation.”
Patama Krisanarak, Chairman of the Upper Northern Regional Industrial Council Group 1, said: “Today it’s not just about cost savings, but business survival. Improving production processes with technology, solar roofs, or AI are approaches that must be accelerated because the world is changing, new trade conditions are coming, and we have no choice but to adapt.”

The “Go Together” project is a collaboration between SCG, the Federation of Thai Industries, and partners from finance, education, and technology sectors. It aims to promote SMEs nationwide to concretely transition to a low-carbon society through the Inclusive Green Growth approach, using SCG factories as model sites for transferring real experiences in technology, innovation, and environmentally-friendly resource management, while providing spaces for knowledge exchange and networking among entrepreneurs in each region.
