SCG has pursued efforts to enhance Thailand’s construction industry by launching the “CPAC Solution Center” in Khon Kaen to serve as a center that houses a comprehensive range of construction innovation and expertise. It also sets to build a network of technicians and contractors for sustainable mutual growth whereby the digital technologies will be leveraged to address the problems and minimize construction waste. As such, the center’s goal is to fulfill the customer needs in terms of quality, construction speed, and cost control with no hassles. SCG aims to establish 9 branches across the country by the end of 2019.
Mr. Chana Poomee, Vice President – Cement and Construction Solution Business of SCG Cement–Building Materials Business, said, “The business approach SCG has achieved this year is an upgrade in the working process of Cement-Building Materials Business through active collaboration at both a local and national level. “CPAC Solution Center” is found to serve as a co-working space and center for the exchange of knowledge, construction, and solutions for the construction network. CPAC will provide innovations or technologies garnered from relevant parties to effectively and comprehensively help solve the construction constraints. The Khon Kaen’s CPAC Construction Solution is the second branch, following the first one in Chiang Mai. SCG has planned to open 9 branches in Chiang Mai, Khon Kaen, Phitsanulok, Phuket, Surat Thani, Ubon Ratchathani, Nonthaburi, Nakhon Pathom, and Pattaya by the end of 2019 and set to make a total of 20 branches across Thailand by 2020. SCG also sets to expand the network of technicians and local contractors to satisfy the customer needs regarding solutions for holistic structural work.”
In addition, SCG also introduced digital technologies to help solve construction challenges and achieve maximum resource efficiency and sustainably contribute to Thailand’s construction industry. The technologies include the 3D model-based construction program called BIM (Building Information Modeling) that combines architectural practices, structural design, and system which can deliver practical and concise construction plans and identify pre-construction mistakes. The technology also helps minimize resource usage, time, and construction costs.
Construction technologies available at the center are catered to meet unique challenges and provide the best options for all customers. Examples include 1) Solutions for “homeowners, technicians and small-scale contractors,” such as Floor Solution, Pile and Beam Column Solution, Precast Wall Solution, Farm Solution which offers design and consultation services to build standard barns with speedy construction and controlled budget with precast materials; and 2) Solutions for “large-scale contractors and real estate development companies,” such as Infrastructure Solution, Post-tensioned Slap System for Skytrain System, Beam Bridge Construction available with inclusive services of design, material provision, production control, and installation; Lifetime Solution that offers repair and life extension services for buildings such as tall building, factory, bridge or dock; and Earthwork Solution that provides underground design work and drainage system to minimize construction time, a solution suitable for high soil subsidence area, especially in the central region.
