SCG Experience – the hub of living innovation, service, and solution – has partnered with The Mall Shopping Center to introduce the second edition of Upcycling Think for the Earth activity in order to pass on SCG circular way that implements circular economy through the promotion of the behavior to “Use Fully, Separate Wisely, and Throw Away Correctly” by inviting children to learn how to care for the earth in a workshop that adds value to waste through upcycling – transforming vinyl advertising signs at the The Mall into pouches in “The Mall Kids Let’s Eco Together” activity.
Mr. Sanit Pooboobpa, Managing Director of SCG Experience said, “SCG has realized the importance of circular economy in business operations and in our daily living, and upcycling is one of the ways to manage resources as we can add value to waste with imagination, design, and product development. For its second edition, the Upcycling Think for the Earth activity has partnered with The Mall Shopping Center to raise awareness among children on how to use resources to its full capacity through creating new things from waste using vinyl advertising signs from The Mall Bangkapi branch. Our SCG employees have educated the children on circular economy, advised them on choosing the color of the vinyl, folding the material into triangles, to attaching buttons to the pouches. More than 700 children have joined in the workshop which educated them and gave them pride in accomplishing this task by themselves.”
Other activities were also on offer to demonstrate how to implement circular economy, such as educating participants on the SCG circular way through the “Use Fully, Separate Wisely, and Throw Away Correctly” initiative which received interest from both the children and their parents.
