SCG Advances Educational Equality in ASEAN, Awards Scholarships in Three Countries

SCG continues its mission to reduce educational inequality and increase opportunities for underprivileged but determined students in ASEAN through the SCG Sharing the Dream scholarship program. The program operates continuously in Thailand and ASEAN countries, helping young people overcome challenges and pursue their educational dreams while fostering environmental consciousness among the new generation to participate in environmental conservation and address global warming, following ESG 4 Plus guidelines.

Recently, scholarship award ceremonies were held in three countries:

In Laos, 200 scholarships were awarded to secondary and university level students. Dr. Samlan Phanthavong, Deputy Minister of Education and Sports of Lao PDR, Mr. Morakot Srisawat, Thai Ambassador to Lao PDR, and Mr. Paramate Nisagornsen Vice President-Corporate Administration, SCG, attended the ceremony to congratulate and give guidance to scholarship recipients.

In Cambodia, 156 scholarships were awarded to secondary and university level students. Mr. Samrathna, Secretary of State for the Ministry of Youth, Education and Sports of Cambodia, Mr. Ekaron Kunacharoen, Thai Charge d’Affaires, and Mr. Ratchayut Kasemchaisiri, SCG Cambodia Country Director, attended to congratulate and give guidance to scholarship recipients.

In Vietnam, 200 scholarships were awarded – 100 for university students and 100 for school students. Mrs. Nguyễn Phạm Duy Trang, representative from the Central Council of the Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneer Organization, and Mr. Praween Wirojpan, SCG Deputy Country Director for Cambodia and Vietnam, attended to congratulate and give guidance to scholarship recipients.
