SCG Foundation, led by Mr. Roongrote Rangsiyopash, President of SCG Foundation, Mr. Chaovalit Ekabut, Executive Director of SCG Foundation, Miss Suvimol Chivaluk, Director and Manager of SCG Foundation, and Mr. Suracha Udomsak, Vice President and CTO – Innovation and Technology of SCG Chemicals Business, donated a CT Scanner as well as renovated the CT scan room with a total budget of 14 million baht at Ramathibodi Chakri Naruebodindra Hospital. This technology has been developed with the advice of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and is able to display high-quality images for diagnosis. Moreover, the CT scanner is equipped with software to quickly and accurately detect the symptoms of COVID-19 patients and can perform scans for up to 300 patients per day. The machine can also be used for other medical diagnosis purposes. The CT scanner was received by Assoc. Prof. Thanya Subhadrabandhu, M.D., Acting Vice President of Mahidol University and Prof. Piyamitr Sritara, M.D., Dean, Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University.
SCG Foundation also donated other innovative equipment to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus to Chakri Naruebodindra Medical Institute such as the Negative Pressure Isolation Room and Small Patient Isolation Capsule for CT Scan in order to protect medical personnel from coming into contact with the COVID-19 virus.
