SCG Donates “Aerosol Guard” to Memorial Hospital Sirindhorn Rayong to Lower COVID-19 Risks and Protect Medical Professionals

Chemicals Business, SCG, has donated aerosol guard equipment which consisted of five Aerosol Boxes made from Shinkolite acrylic sheets and five sets of DIY Aerosol Guard from SCG to Memorial Hospital Sirindhorn Rayong with the aim to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus from patients to the general public as well as to lower the risk of medical professionals in Rayong province contracting the disease, with Dr. Supphachai Iamkulworaphong, Deputy Hospital Director, Memorial Hospital Sirindhorn Rayong receiving the equipment.

Dr. Supphachai revealed that, “Both types of equipment which have been manufactured by SCG to prevent the spread of the virus are highly useful for medical professionals as they can protect them against the spread of disease which allows medical professionals to carry out their duties with more safety and lower the risks of contracting the virus from patients. Moreover, both types of equipment are compact and are compatible with existing medical equipment. The DIY Aerosol Guard can be used with patient beds and prevent the spread of the virus during transportation, while the Aerosol Boxes can provide a protective shield while intubating patients.”

Chemicals Business, SCG, has manufactured the Aerosol Boxes using Shinkolite acrylic sheets that are transparent and clean which allows doctors to clearly see patients whose respiratory system is failing during the intubation process. The DIY Aerosol Guard from SCG can help prevent the spread of the virus and can be self-constructed as it is lightweight and can be easily installed, while the plastic film covering the structure can be changed as often as needed, providing a clean and virus-free surface for both the half- and full-body types of suits. The DIY set provides all the necessary components for the suit, including tubes and PVC joints make up the structure as well as the plastic film that can prevent the spread of the virus.

Apart from donating the equipment to Memorial Hospital Sirindhorn Rayong, the Chemicals Business, SCG, has also donated a total of 70 sets of equipment to 8 other hospitals in Rayong province, from Rayong Hospital, Khao Chamao Hospital, Klaeng Hospital, Wang Chan Hospital, Ban Khai Hospital, Ban Chang Hospital, Pluak Daeng Hospital, and Nikompattana Hospital.

The donation of the Aerosol Guard equipment to prevent against the spread of the COVID-19 virus was carried out by Mr. Somchai Hongsuvarn, CSR Manager of Chemicals Business, SCG, Mr. Somyod Sombatchaisak, Manufacturing Division Manager of Thai MMA Company Limited, and Mr. Panchapol Nakmool, Pipe & Fitting Production Department Manager of Nawaplastic Industries Company Limited.
