SCGC Earns 28 IEAT Awards, Drives Continuous Environmental and Safety Efforts for Sustainable Coexistence with Communities

Rayong – 19 August 2025: SCG Chemicals, or SCGC, continues to reinforce its ESG policy by prioritizing the environment, safety, and community coexistence. Recently, companies under the SCGC group received a total of 24 Environmental and Safety Governance Awards for 2025 from the Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand (IEAT). The accolades include 11 “White Flag – Gold Star” awards and 13 “White Flag – Green Star” awards, which were granted based on factory assessments across various dimensions according to international standards. Furthermore, SCGC was honored with four additional plaques of recognition for its participation in a project studying guidelines for controlling benzene and 1,3-butadiene levels in the atmosphere along the fence lines of factories within the Map Ta Phut industrial estate and port area. The awards were presented by Sumet Tangprasert, Governor of the Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand.

For 2025, SCGC received Environmental and Safety Governance Awards in two categories. The Environmental and Safety Governance Awards (White Flag – Gold Star) for 2025, which recognizes companies that have earned the “White Flag – Green Star” award for six consecutive years, was presented to Rayong Olefins Co., Ltd., Map Ta Phut Olefins Co., Ltd., Thai Polyethylene Co., Ltd., TPC Paste Resin Co., Ltd., Rayong Terminal Co., Ltd., Thai MMA Co., Ltd., Thai MFC Co., Ltd., and Grand Siam Composites Co., Ltd.

The Environmental and Safety Governance Awards (White Flag – Green Star) for 2025 was presented to Rayong Olefins Co., Ltd., Map Ta Phut Olefins Co., Ltd., Thai Polyethylene Co., Ltd., TPC Paste Resin Co., Ltd., SCGC Ico Polymer Co., Ltd., Rayong Terminal Co., Ltd., Thai MMA Co., Ltd., Thai MFC Co., Ltd., and Grand Siam Composites Co., Ltd.

The plaques of recognition for the project on establishing control measures for benzene and 1,3-butadiene in the atmosphere along factory fence lines in the Map Ta Phut industrial estate and port area were awarded to Thai Plastic and Chemicals Pcl, Rayong Olefins Co., Ltd., Map Ta Phut Olefins Co., Ltd., Map Ta Phut Tank Terminal Co., Ltd.

The Environmental Governance and Safety Project by the Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand (IEAT) is an initiative focused on promoting excellence in environmental, safety, and social responsibility among industrial plants. The evaluation framework covers five key dimensions: physical, economic, environmental, social, and management.
