SCG Cement and Green Solutions business and Serendix, a Japanese startup company specializing in residential housing through 3D printing technology applications in construction, have jointly signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to enhance construction capabilities. This collaboration combines 3D printing technology with specialized mortar formulated for three-dimensional printing, featuring smooth and attractive texture properties, durability in all environmental conditions, and complex construction work. The partnership aims to advance green construction innovation to support the growth of the modern construction industry in the Japanese market and strengthen its presence on the global stage, addressing modern housing needs while reducing carbon footprint, labor requirements, and increasing construction speed.
Mr. Surachai Nimlaor, Chief Executive Officer of SCG Cement and Green Solutions business, revealed that SCG, as a leader in cement business and sustainable construction products, is committed to promoting Green Solutions that address quality, speed, and environmental friendliness. The signing of this MOU with Serendix represents another significant step in introducing specialized mortar for three-dimensional printing (SCG 3D Printing Mortar) to elevate construction work through creating high-quality homes while saving both time and resources, particularly in Japan, a market that prioritizes advanced technology and sustainability standards in construction.

“This collaboration goes beyond merely exporting quality construction materials. It represents the transfer of knowledge and deep technological development between two countries. SCG not only delivers quality materials but also collaborates at the engineering level with the Serendix team to co-develop cement formulas suitable for Japanese printing machines in diverse weather conditions.”
Serendix is a Japanese startup company established to solve housing problems through 3D printing technology. Their prototype house has been recorded as Japan’s first 3D-printed house, completed in just 23 hours. With their commitment to building homes quickly, durably, and with quality, they chose to use SCG 3D Printing Mortar with support from SCG’s expert team, who jointly developed specialized cement formulas suitable for 3D printing machines, Japan’s environment and climate. The mortar provides strength, supports complex designs, creates flexible forms, offers precision and good project management, while considering carbon reduction, dust reduction, waste reduction, and labor reduction, all of which are important factors the company must implement in every step to ensure that delivered materials can be used effectively in all situations.

Currently, the 3D printing construction technology market, particularly in Japan, the United States, and European countries, is expanding rapidly. While Thailand is still in its early stages, it shows continuous growth trends driven by green construction project development and the need to efficiently reduce labor and material costs. SCG is among the first developers of cement materials for 3D printing machines capable of full-scale production and practical application, comprehensively addressing construction needs across all dimensions.
“The collaboration with Serendix represents a significant turning point that will transform the construction industry into an era of 3D printing technology house construction that is fast, efficient, and environmentally friendly. This aligns with SCG’s goal of driving Green Construction, which will help create a sustainable construction ecosystem at the regional level while increasing sales channels and opportunities in Japan, ready to extend to the global stage strongly,” Mr. Surachai concluded.
