SCGP Ranks Top 1% in S&P Global Packaging Industry, Advances Circular Economy Concept at Earth Jump 2025 Forum

SCGP demonstrates global sustainability confidence by maintaining Top 1% ranking in S&P Global for the third consecutive year, while advancing partnerships to drive transformation toward sustainability through circular economy concepts via packaging solutions across the entire value chain at the sustainability forum “EARTH JUMP 2025: TRANSITION THRU TURBULENCE”

Mr. Wichan Jitpakdee, Chief Executive Officer of SCG Packaging Public Company Limited (SCGP), stated that through commitment and collaboration from all parties in driving circular economy and Net Zero initiatives, including developing personnel skills aligned with organizational direction and readiness to respond to new industry challenges, SCGP continues to advance with partners to continuously promote sustainability. Recently, SCGP participated in driving Thailand’s economy through the global warming crisis, preparing to handle changes at the sustainability forum “EARTH JUMP 2025: TRANSITION THRU TURBULENCE” on the panel discussion “Circular Economy: New Trend for Business Survival”.

“Circular economy is becoming increasingly important and represents business survival amid the volatility the world is currently facing. SCGP has adopted a sustainable business approach by implementing circular economy as an organizational strategy across five dimensions: Resource Recovery, where we reuse materials, with SCGP utilizing over 99 percent recycled paper as raw materials; Circular Supplies, using renewable energy and planting forests that absorb over 300,000 tons of carbon in the past year; and Product Life Extension, designing packaging that extends product lifespan to reduce resource consumption. These three dimensions have enabled SCGP to grow with potential and extend into two additional dimensions to strengthen future sustainability: Product as a Service, transforming products into comprehensive services to enhance value chain efficiency; and Sharing Platform, collaborating with partners to share assets for maximum resource utilization.”

“Viewing circular economy as an investment for the future rather than a cost can transform it into new business opportunities, while seeking partnerships is essential to create collaborative networks (ecosystems) and drive actual implementation. SCGP operates with over 120 business partners and collaborates with communities to promote waste management knowledge and reuse practices, developing the LIKE (waste-free) community project that has enabled four communities to win national awards. Simultaneously, SCGP continues investing in sustainable packaging innovation development, such as Paper Cutlery innovations for spoons, forks, and knives made from paper, and food packaging from eucalyptus pulp that is recyclable and biodegradable within 60 days after disposal,” Mr. Wichan stated.

The EARTH JUMP 2025 forum brought together representatives from multiple sectors to exchange approaches for driving circular economy, including waste management, expanding collaboration, and creating partner networks to promote business sustainability and deliver benefits to society. This forum serves as an important platform for sharing circular economy approaches with business sectors and various stakeholders to promote balanced growth between economy, society, and environment toward global sustainability.
