Dr. Chana Poomee, Chief Sustainability Officer at SCG (right), recently received the KMUTNB (King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok) Honorary Person Award for his dedication and service to the university, community, society, and nation for the year 2024. The award was presented by Air Chief Marshal Chalit Pukphasuk, Privy Councillor and Secretary-General of the Phra Dabos Foundation (left), during the university’s 66th anniversary celebration held at King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok, Bangkok.
Dr. Chana Poomee has played a crucial role in driving SCG and Thailand toward sustainability by integrating business operations with sustainable development across all dimensions, including environmental, social, and governance (ESG) aspects, to prepare for rapidly changing circumstances in all areas. Most recently, he was elected as Chairman of the ASEAN Federation of Cement Manufacturers (AFCM), with the goal of establishing a roadmap to push the cement industry in ASEAN to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
